As a multidisciplinary visual artist, Fatima Sow works across painting, wood assemblage, and photo-collage to explore spirituality, relationships to nature, and the amplification of African Diaspora and Black communities. My practice centers on history and literacy as vital tools for cultural preservation, remembrance, and connection.
Drawing from collected memories, photographs, oral histories, and travel experiences, I examine the intersections of personal and collective narratives. Through layered materials and imagery, I seek to reveal the shared language that exists between people and their environments across cultures—honoring lineage, place, and the stories that shape who we are.
